Winifred Keane is a commissioned and award-winning Composer with three degrees in music from the University of Pennsylvania, Western Connecticut College, and Sarah Lawrence. As a concert singer, the New York Times wrote: “She combined intelligence, good musicianship, wit, and sensitivity in her interpretations.
As Director of The Creative Music Studio, she continued her composing, performing, and teaching, while raising three musical children. Her son, Brian Keane, is an internationally known composer-producer. He calls his mother an avant-garde composer and said in a newspaper interview:”She’s been a major influence on me, in terms of stretching the boundaries of the music I was exposed to.”
Winifred Keane is a member of the American Music Center, Broadcast Music Incorporated, The American Composers Forum and The Fellowship of Quakers in the Arts.
